It was in July that we had the first contact with Vanessa Martins and Marco Costa, a couple well knowed to the portuguese public eye. We couldn’t be more happy with this approach because we saw in this couple a tremendous wish to seal their love in a modern wedding sorrounded by their loved ones.
Since early on, Vanessa and Marco told us they wanted something modern yet simple, so we chose the black and white as the main colours of the big wedding that was going to take place in November. It suited perfectly with the couple’s personality and gave that touch of elegance that the bride wanted so much.
The space chosen for the big day was the Boutique Hotel Senhora da Guia in Cascais. A small 5 star hotel with an intimate setting and a phenomenal view of the sea, it had everything to go with our theme. Everything matched with what we wanted to create for the wedding and it was easy to transform the place into the couple’s dream setting.
Of course everything was easier with the help of our dear florist + decor, Happy Day Eventos. We know we can count on them to make our vision com true and still give that touch that only them can. The bride told us that her favorite flowers were the tulips, so of course we had to incorporate tulips in our flower arrangements. Mixed with white roses we created a super celestial and elegant environment.
The bride wore two dresses from Pronovias: a typically cinderella for religious ceremony and cocktail and then a more fair and modern for the dinner and party! One thing that most people do not know is that with the first dress, the bride wore a pair of tennis shoes. As the dress was so long she said that no one was going to see and so she would feel more comfortable. With the second dress, which had an opening at the front, the bride used a pair of high heels - also from Pronovias - that looked like they came out of a fairy tale. We accompanied the bride to all the fittings and we couldnt have been happier when we saw her all arranged and ready to say "yes"!
Regarding the groom’s tuxedo, a custom made by designer Paulo Pamplona was the chosen one. Stylish and timeless!
Since we wanted to excel at difference, the idea of making a giant seating plan hand written by a calligraphy artist made perfect sense! Anna came directly from Porto to turn a black wall into art. This wall beyond its purpose as a seating plan, also served as a background for many group photographs and was even highly praised by all the guests.
Speaking of guests, every person who appeared at the church door was photographed by the photographers sent by the magazines. Vanessa and Marco, as they are public figures, have friends who are also part of that group and of course they were invited to the happiest day of their lives. We had guests such as Teresa Guilherme, Pimpinha Jardim, Helena Costa, Diana Monteiro, Darko and many more. It seemed like we were at a VIP party and the truth is that we were really, but this one had a religious ceremony before.
From early on the couple said they wanted to surprise the guests and that's why Marco invited the comedian (and friend!) Antonio Raminhos to entertain the guests during dinner. It was a complete surprise that everyone loved because there was no one in the room who would not laugh out loud!
The surprises did not end there: for the first dance of the bride and groom, Darko sang live songs that let the couple shine in the middle of the dance floor. You must be thinking that the surprises are over here, but no. Without telling the bride, Marco invited the singer Diogo Piçarra - one of Vanessa's favorites - to sing two songs. We had to hide Diogo in a room for a good few minutes so no one could see him and we could surprise everyone, including Vanessa. When Darko finished singing and called Diogo Piçarra, everyone kept their mouths open. Vanessa could not believe it and as the singer sang one of his most romantic singles "Tu e eu", the bride let out a few tears as she danced with the love of her life!
Everything that happened on this fantastic day was photographed by the lens of the photographers D10, who later saw their photographs being published in Cristina magazine. Since the wedding preparations that were decided, after a meeting with Cristina Ferreira herself, the couple would give the exclusive to this magazine that so many like. It was wonderful to see our work exposed in the December issue of one of the most famous magazines in Portugal and we had great pleasure in meeting this fantastic couple that will stay forever in our memory!
